Region: São Paulo, Brésil
History register · custodian, not owner
Inaugurated in 2016, the Museu Judaico de São Paulo is devoted to the history and culture of the Jewish communities of Brazil, a country that is home to the largest Jewish population in Latin America outside Argentina. The museum presents successive waves of migration — Sephardic, Ashkenazi from Eastern Europe, survivors of the Shoah — and their contribution to Brazilian economic, cultural, and political life. Its temporary exhibitions regularly address questions of Memory, diversity, and tolerance in contemporary Brazilian society.
This Great Book does not yet have published chapters. The chapters — each bearing its register, its epistemic status and its sources — will be added as editorial enrichment and assisted generation progress.
