A research institute founded in Jerusalem in 1978, dedicated to the study and promotion of the heritage of Sephardic and Oriental communities. It publishes academic works on rabbinic literature, liturgical poetry (piyoutim), and the customs of communities from the Mediterranean basin, the Middle East, and North Africa. The institute preserves rare manuscripts and documents relating to Sephardic kehillot dispersed throughout the world. Its collections cover in particular the traditions of communities from Iraq, Syria, Iran, Morocco, and the Balkans.
This Great Book does not yet have published chapters. The chapters — each bearing its register, its epistemic status and its sources — will be added as editorial enrichment and assisted generation progress.
