American branch of the legendary Mir yeshiva, refounded in Brooklyn in 1946 by Rabbi Avraham Kalmanowitz, an actor in the rescue of Mir students during the Holocaust. Located in Flatbush, it was long directed by Rabbi Shmuel Berenbaum. Major Lithuanian yeshiva (litvish).
