The Klaus synagogue, built in 1694, houses within the Jewish Museum of Prague a reference library distinct from the collection of the Pinkas Synagogue, centred on the rabbinical traditions of Prague and Bohemia. It holds Ashkenazi manuscripts from the sixteenth to the nineteenth century, notably texts connected to the school of the Maharal of Prague. This collection documents the intellectual life of the Bohemian Jewish community at its height. It is accessible to researchers on request at the Jewish Museum of Prague.
This Great Book does not yet have published chapters. The chapters — each bearing its register, its epistemic status and its sources — will be added as editorial enrichment and assisted generation progress.
