Jewish museum founded in 1960 in Baltimore to save the historic Lloyd Street synagogue (1845). It traces the Jewish experience in Baltimore and Maryland and constitutes one of the principal American centers for exhibitions on Jewish history and culture. Its campus includes two historic synagogues and rich collections of ceremonial art and archives.
