A society founded in 1992 in London, dedicated to Jewish genealogical research in Great Britain and the Commonwealth countries. It publishes the quarterly journal 'Shemot' and maintains databases on birth, marriage, and death records of British Jewish communities since the seventeenth century. The JGSGB organizes research workshops, conferences, and digitization projects for communal archives, including records of London's Sephardic synagogues dating back to the Cromwellian period. It collaborates with the National Archives and university libraries to facilitate access to primary sources.
