Jewish studies center at the University of Michigan, formally created in 1988 through the endowment of Jean and Samuel Frankel. A $20 million gift in 2005 established the Frankel Institute for Advanced Judaic Studies, one of the largest endowments ever devoted to Jewish Studies at an American university. It offers teaching, research and scholars' residencies.
