Third-largest art museum in Israel, founded in 1951 in Haifa on the occasion of a major Marc Chagall exhibition, in a wing of the municipality. Housed since 1977 in a stone building in the Wadi Nisnas neighborhood, it is devoted to contemporary Israeli and international art and preserves some 7,000 works.
