Founded in 2016 in the United Kingdom, the Foundation for Jewish Heritage is an organization dedicated to the conservation and documentation of the Jewish built heritage in Europe, with particular attention to synagogues, cemeteries, and communal buildings at risk in countries where Jewish communities were decimated or dispersed. It conducts field surveys, builds photographic and architectural archives, and advocates for the legal protection of threatened sites, notably in Central and Eastern Europe. Its documentary cataloguing work contributes to knowledge of the communal history of Jews in regions where physical traces are disappearing. The foundation collaborates with EHRI and numerous European academic partners.
This Great Book does not yet have published chapters. The chapters — each bearing its register, its epistemic status and its sources — will be added as editorial enrichment and assisted generation progress.
